Services

At Family Tree Designs we can research any information that would appear in the form of Birth, Marriage or Death certificates and census information as well as some parish records. So if you require a whole family tree or if you just want information on an individual we can help.

A single birth, marriage or death certificate provided you give the year of the event

£10 (no charge if not found)

A single birth, marriage or death certificate without knowing the date of the event
(5 year date range required, if a wider search is required please let us know)

All available census information about an individual (1841-1901 where available)

£4 for each census year that a search is required for

Prices for full trees vary quite considerably depending on what information is know already. If you require a full tree please e-mail us with as much information about your earliest ancestors as possible and we can give you a quote. You need not give information about living relatives if you do not wish to. See below for full details on how this works.

Single line ancestor trees. e.g. A direct male or female line. Again this depends on information already known. If you require a single line tree please let us know the earliest people you have and we can give you a quote.

Our new unique package gives you everything. All of the research and certificate costs are included with no added extras. Once the work is complete you will receive all the details and paperwork along with your family tree ready to be framed.

Step 1:-	You send us all of the information you know about your ancestors along with a deposit.

Step 2:-	We research every branch of your ancestors possible usually back to the early 1800's. Quite often we can get some branches even further back but this depends on record availability.

Step 3:-	We contact you once research is complete, the work usually takes around 6 to 9 weeks. At this point we will require the balance.

Step 4:-	We send you a basic print of your ancestor tree, copies of any birth or marriage certificates we may have needed to order in our research process and copies of all relevant censuses which we have found containing your ancestors. We will also send you a computer file containing all of the information about your family along with Family Tree Maker software to run it, with this you will be able to add to your tree in the future as well as print various details and trees.

Payment for orders will need to be received before they are sent out. In the case of family trees a deposit will be required.

In the case of Certificate Ordering you will receive the certificate in the post direct from the GRO.

For Census Searching you will receive all available information about the household of the individual you have requested a search for, for the years specified.

For Trees we will do our best to find all ancestors of a specified person back to the early 1800's. Often we can get a bit further back than this depending on parish record availability. You will also receive:- any certificates that have been ordered during research, all relevant census information gathered, a print of an ancestor tree from the person the tree has been requested for and a computer file containing all of the information. (The computer file requires compatible family tree software to open. If you do not have this we can supply Family Tree Maker for £15 this is included in our full package)

For Single Line Ancestor Trees the same applies for the Full Tree except we will only be following the specified line.
